Latency recording measures the elapsed time between the antecedent — instruction or SD — and the onset of the response. It is the right measure when the concern is how quickly a learner responds, such as the time from 'come here' to the first step toward the speaker.
Decreasing latency is a common goal for compliance and transition targets.
