Definition
Momentary time sampling scores the behavior as present or absent only at the instant each interval ends — not at any other time during the interval. It allows an observer to monitor behavior while doing other tasks.
It is efficient for long observations and group settings, though less sensitive to brief or low-rate behaviors.
